final project

So this is it! This is my final work! Because of my personal knowledge of the sport and business making the brochure specifically was not a challenge for me. I really enjoyed this project because as a little girl I either wanted to become an olympic rider or own my own stable. I am really proud of my project and how far I've come in this class! I knew absolutely nothing at the beginning of the semester and now I have such a greater appreciation for this! I got my images from http://www.stockvault.net/photo/106384/farm-nature,Horses In A Stable by Petr Kratochvil,Horse Jumping by EDWARD McCABE,Horses by Petr Kratochvil and the rest are mine, with the exception of the ribbons which a friend let me use! The font I used is minion pro, I did not want to use anything to cursive-y and I used Apple Chancery for my name on the business card! I used that font on the business card because I thought it was pretty and was intrigued by the name! Like I said earlier I am very happy and proud of my project!

Corporate Identity Questionaire

1) What is your business?
It is a competitive equestrian facility (riding stable).

2) Describe your business in one sentence
A riding stable for the serious competitor, wishing to compete at shows across the country.

 3) Who is your target audience?
Anyone and everyone. Anyone who is serious about their equestrian career. Beginners to the very advanced of riders.

 4) Who are your competitors?
equestrian stables just like mine who compete on the same circuit, with beautiful barns/facilities, grooms, top quality trainers/professionals with specialties in the hunters/jumpers/equitation.

 5) What makes them better/worse than your product/service?
Since most if not all of the top barns in the country are all extremely similar I would say that none of them are worse. The fees may differ slightly depending on who you are training with, boarding, show fees, training fees (at home/shows, having a groom, and other factors but that would be it. I would say no seriously competitive stable is any better than another, it is the clients opinion and what they are looking for for themselves and their horses.

 6) Do you currently have an identity? (This is more for companies that are already established and you’re just revamping the logo/corporate identity. If you have a new company or product, skip this question.)
No.

7) (If your answer to #6 is no, skip this question)
What do you like about it and what don’t you like about it?

These following questions might seem silly, but their purpose is to help generate ideas.
1) How do you want your image to be seen in two years?
A highly competitive, serious, competition stable with top of the line facilities, trainers, care, and horses. Also a stable whose students produce winning results.

2) If your company was an animal, what animal would it be and why?
A horse because horses are what this business is all about.

 3) If your company/brand was a person, who would it be and why?
Beezie Madden (has competed in the olympics multiple times with medals)or Reed Kessler (youngest to ride in Olympics this summer).

 4) If your company/brand was an object, what would it be?
A blue ribbon or a trophy.

 5) If your customer was a cartoon character, who would it be?
Probably Sarah Whitney from the cartoon Horse Land, because she is competitive, friendly, and encourages others to do their best and have fun.

Lyrical Collage

I love fairytales and happily ever after's so that was my inspiration along with Taylor Swift's song "enchanted" which is where I came up with the unicorn, barbie fairy dolls and the pretty background for this collage. If you look closely at the story book it says "and they lived happily ever after".

final logo

So this is my logo! I decided to do a "blue ribbon" as the "o" in ribbon instead of the horseshoe as the "u" in "blue". It just did not look right to me and I think that the blue ribbon is cuter. I am happy with how this turned out.

logos

I picked the McDonald's logo because it is universally known. It is very easy to spot those golden arches and everyone knows what they stand for. The logo is simple and the message the company is trying to send through the logo is successful. The use of color is great! You can see those arches from a long way away.
The BMW logo is successful in that it has been around since the company was created. Everyone knows what type of car it is not just because it says BMW on it but because it is a unique one of a kind logo. I think the use of color is great, it stands out without being flashy.
The Starbucks logo is one of my favorites it is incredibly unique and artsy. I love the mermaid. The logo is easily identifiable because it says starbucks coffee right one it. I like the logo's use of color because they just stuck with three colors to keep it simple. I think sometimes when things have to much color it gets distracting.
This company's product(s) are always in high demand. So everyone knows that this logo is and what it represents. The logo holds a 2D design. The logo is really convenient because it is and apple which is also the name of the company.
The Coca Cola logo is successful because the soda can in the logo gives the product away immediately. The logos also shows the ice to represent that the product should also be drunk cold and tastes that best that way.

Caligramme assignment

So I did a star with the little children's poem "Star light Star bright" because as a little girl I would always look up at the sky and wish on stars....even if they weren't shooting stars.

logos

I chose to go with Blue Ribbon stables because that is what I know best, although I am still really fond of my animal hoarders/pet shop idea :)

logos

Kendall's Tack Shop & Saddlery Since I am an avid equestrian I know alot about the equipment and latest fashions that riders all over the circuit are wearing or using. This shop would have everything from saddles, bridles, saddle pads, stirrups, tall boots, casual barn wear, breyer horses to horse cookies. The logo would be a little girl riding a pink pony.
All Facists! This is a gym/spa and life coaching where you go to work out then get pampered afterwards! The logo could be the tree of life.
Blue Ribbon Show Stables: A competitive show barn This will be a stable aimed at providing equestrians of all ages an amazing riding and show experience. The stable would travel to all of the best A, AA and even AAA shows across the country. The stables main focus would be training hunter/jumper and show jumping champions. The logo could be a horse and rider jumping.
Animal Hoarder's and more Pet Shop This would be a pet shop will all sorts of animals and abundance of each animal. This shop could have lots of sales too like buy one cat get three free type thing. The logo could be a lady with a bunch of animals surrounding her.
Couture Fashions by Kendall This would be a clothing store with my personally designed clothing sold in it. This logo could be my initials or a dress.

project 1

Before I began this project I knew I wanted to do a beach theme. I just didn't exactly know where to start, so I began by making my circle (the sun) because I knew how to make that shape. As I started doing more with the image, a picture in my mind took place. It definitely took me awhile to get this picture to how I wanted it. I was messing with the numbers in the codes a lot, but once I got into a groove it became much easier. I think the hardest part for me was the waves, birds and sailboat. It was hard because of figuring out exactly where to place them and moving them around until I found the exact spot I wanted. I'm really pleased with my picture and I think I was successful in created the image that I wanted to portray.
